Today I replaced my Radeon HD 6770 with a MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G. With a Intel Core i5-3570K @3.40 Gz and a 520 W power supply, it should've been able to run it.
I plugged it in, everything seemed to fit just fine. I used a 6 pin power connector, as that was what my old GPU used. Boots up my computer, but it says the PCI needs more power, so I add the 8 pin connector as well. Then the computer wont even start. Or rather, it starts for 15 seconds, fans and lights on, but then it shuts down. Then it repeatedly tries to start, but shuts down again almost immediately.
All the cables seemed to be connected and placed where they were supposed to be. Alas I am no techwizard and this is honestly my first time changing my own graphic card. Oh well.
I removed the new GPU and the additional cables I plugged in the machine. Then I reinserted my old GPU. Still the problem persists. My computer wont start for more than a few seconds, before it shuts down, repeatedly.
