Hey!

Just got a new PSU and a new graphics card (Asus Strix r9 380 4gb) and when i try to install drivers for the new card the computer just enters a "you can't do anything" state. I get no response on anything and the monitor goes black.

I have tried the new PSU (Cooler Master 750W) with my old graphics card (Nvidia GeForce 745 4gb) and it works fine. This means the PSU works i guess.

I have used DDU to uninstall all graphics drivers and then plugging in the new card. Same thing still happens when I try to install the new drivers. Doing the same thing but with a fresh windows install didn't work either.

Could it be that it's not compatible with my motherboard? It says LGA1151 (I think that's the name of it). The power cable is an 8 pin (2+6) and is plugged into one of the PSU slots. Do i need one that is 8?

Any help is really appreciated.

Maybe you should use old drivers instead of the latest ones...I guess the latest one have stability issues or something...

If that helps, don't forget to mark the thread as SOLVED. That would help others, as probably many have got the latest drivers, which are obviously full of bugs.

Sadly I can't, but I've contacted the place I bought it from. They're going to take it back and test it.
