Ok so after reinstalling my os i have had this problem i want to record minecraft so i tried obs.
Usually in minecraft i get around 200 fps where ever world im in and when i record i get about 20-30 fps. so i thought it was obs so i tried dxtory. and nope, i still got around 20-30 fps.
i dont really understand im using 2 hdds one has windows one is for storage and i use the one that doesnt have windows for recording. i think my pc is capable of recording minecraft. Also when i play i dont get any lag at all dont really know whats going on. any help is appreciated thanks!

specs:
intel core i3 4160 @ 3.6 ghz
Geforce Gtx 750 ti
8 gb of memory
i have 2 1 tb hard drives
Running Windows 10 home
520 watt psu

Solution
Minecraft is heavily CPU based, and hence needs a bit more horsepower to record reliably. There are others more experienced than me with this that can elaborate more, but IMO you may need a bit more CPU to get 60fps recording.

Yes I see you recently built this. Why do you have multiple user accounts, I count 4?

Which software in particular worked fine? Is Minecraft and Windows on a different hard drive than the one you are recording to?

Have you changed anything else?

Different accounts for different devices didnt know that was a problem?
No i have windows and minecraft installed on the same hdd i just choose the file output to be on my second hdd.
Ive used dxtory before and it worked just fine, just the normal fps drop but not this much.
I also have used fraps in the past and was able to record 60 fps just fine dont really know why it drops to 20 sometimes.
I havent tried fraps yet

I'm talking about the drive you are recording to, not the one that has windows/minecraft on it.

In file explorer if you right click on the drive, properties, then tools and its there.

You can take the load off the CPU, in OBS.
To set it up for recordings:
1. go to settings
2. go to encoding
3. click the Nvidia NVENC button
4. Make sure Use CBR is turned on
5. Make sure Enable CBR Padding is turned off
6. Set your Max Bitrate (Kb/s) to your upload max upload speed. You'll want like 8000 or more though, this affects the visual quality of the video partly. (1mbps = 1000 kbps, www.speedtest.net)
7. go to Video and set the FPS to 60
8. Go to Advanced
9. Turn Use Multithreaded Optimizations on
10. Set NVENC Preset to High Quality
11. Set Encoding Profile to Main
12. Turn Use CFR on.
