Last night I was playing starcraft II and the game shut down 2x during 2 hours of play. This has never happened before so I decided to restart the system. Well, it would not boot. I believe last night the mem test light was on. I left the system in the start up state and went to bed hoping it was just taking a LONG time to start.

Today I have removed all memory modules and added one at a time to test them all out. None of the ones that were working seem to be working now. I then checked one of my old 2gb modules with the same result. The system gets to the memory check line and then will not go beyond that. It checks the usb controllers fine too. I did notice that the memory has been reset so the system seems to have reset the CMOS on its own when this happened. I always set my ram to 1600mhz but it currently is set to the default 1066mhz. I have had the system for 5 years now. I replaced the PSU about 7 months ago. The mem test light goes on for only a few seconds during startup now instead of staying on. I could not find this problem anywhere. Lots of people have systems that will not post but getting stuck in the bios startup is not common.

Please advise.
Thank you.

Solution
just a random thing to try but ive seen it work for other intel systems. lossen up the cpu heat sink just slightly. if it reads memory again then your cpu is not making good contact with the motherboard terminals. (ive read other post that say that the motherboard can get warped slightly from the way intel heatsinks attach causing memory issues)
