I thought this would be a fun topic - a sort of "anything goes" forum discussion.

Goal: Equipment / Layout / Ideas for perfect home office.

Requirements:
■ Must allow for productivity when working - utilizing multiple monitors
■ Must allow for good space for personal usage (gaming, multimedia, etc)
■ Must allow for use of both computers at once if needed

Background:
This comes from wanting to improve my current set up. Currently I use a 2 monitor set up on my PC and a standard desk. If I work at home, I connect one of the two monitor to my work laptop, so I can use 2 monitors for work. I like having the other connected to the PC if i want youtube/plex/whatever on in the background for some noise. The problem is what do I do with the keyboard and mouse? I tried a KVM but not ideal to make my other PC less ideal for the purposes of work. Maybe we need more monitors and a bigger desk? 2 distinct sets of controls?

Anyone have thoughts? ideas? experiences?

I think you're missing a piece, I can and do already do this. But I'm talking about making the workspace functional for two different computers sometimes when needing to use them both at once.

Let's go a step further.
Is 2 monitors enough? How about 3? If I connect my laptop to the network and RDP it, can i use 2 monitors on an RDP into a single laptop?

Bear in mind, this is a topic to design the "perfect" office. I'm curious what other people do, or if they truly just segregate work and play?
