I have a gaming laptop with a quad core Intel Core i7 2670QM Sandy Bridge, and when running some games, the temp is hitting around 83 C but never above 84. Is this ok? I know the max for this processor is 100C and can technically hit 110 before shutdown, but I want to know the impact of gaming for long hours running at 83 C. (FYI this computer was built back in 2012)

Laptops just run as fast as they can till they hit a temp then slowly slow down to maintain a safe temp. That's actually pretty good for a laptop that age to run well for long sessions. Usually dust eventually ruins the cooling
