Can something go wrong if I plug only 1 out of the 2 6pin connectors

I suspect my powersupply is not powerful enough so is it possible to unferpower the card?

A GPU will not work if you don't have sufficient power, just get a PSU that can handle your card

Don't only use 1 if there are 2 on the card. Get a PSU that is good quality and appropriately sized.
