I am acquiring parts for a new build ( my second). I settled on X99 platform and bought an I7 5820K. Researched a lot of MOBOs and decided to go with ASUS. I was set to buy an X99-DELUXE/U3.1 but then read that ASUS brought out a new line of X99 MOBOS. So I read up and decided on an X99-A II. Haven't ordered it yet. Today I read a post question from someone desperately trying to confirm that the new ASUS X99 boards are compatible with Haswell E. They are supposed to be the new X99 line for the new Broadway processors that were just released. That's great as I can upgrade someday. But for now I have an I7 5820K. This guy's post has me worried. Before I buy the X99-AII, can someone reassure me that it is compatible with the I7 5820K? I'm pretty sure it is but just want to double check.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it can. I believe the only main change is the newer bios and chipset that supports the newer bread we e. Oh wait broadwell e. Whoops. Stupid autocorrect. I'm not completely sure, but it should. It's just a newer bios and I mean newer bios and chipset should be backwards compatible. It should say support info on the website of the mobo.

can someone that knows for sure check me?

Never mind here it is https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/X99-DELUXE-II/HelpDesk_CPU/

Supports it
