I've woke up this morning to my pc having a problem, it powers on but doesn't display anything. If I change the primary graphics to on board it displays but if I use PCI it does not. I've tried clearing the CMOS and swapping the ram around. It works when the graphics card isn't plugged in or if i use on board graphics. Can someone help me?

Last night I did downgrade my driver because the new one I had wasn't working with a game I was playing. So I tried unistalling the driver completely in device manager and my pc just crashes completely causing me to do a forced restart. I'm really struggling on what to do.

My Rig:
MSI Hawk R9 270x
Intel i5 4690k
AsRock z97 Extreme 6
Ocz Z5 550W
Two 4GB HyperX RAMs

So with the monitor plugged to the dGPU, you see nothing on the screen, not even the BIOS POST messages? But if you plug the monitor to the onboard graphics you do get an image on screen?

Have you tried removing the GPU and putting it back on the PCIe slot? Does the GPU fan spin at all?

Yes that is correct, and yes I've tried removing it and inserting it loads of times and yes the fans spin and lights flash but no display

I'm trying to find out whether your card has a double-BIOS and the corresponding switch, but apparently it doesn't (right?). Where you doing anything to the card BIOS, have you tried flashing it with a new BIOS (before it stopped responding)?

If you keep the card plugged but start the computer with the onboard graphics, does the operating system see the discrete card, in the Devices Manager?

Yes it does have a double-BIOS switch and i havent tried to flash because i dont know how. and yes it does show in the device manager when i run with onboard graphics.

Right, now when I boot from on board graphics when the graphics card in I get a blue screen and a error message saying "thread stuck in device driver" like a minute from being on everytime i boot. But if I boot from on board graphics with it not in I don't get this blue screen at all.

So from this I thought it must be a driver issue but whenever I try to unistall the driver for the card in device manager when computer freezes and I have to force restart

Ive just tried this and it did not work. I went into safe mode unistall the driver then installed the latest one and the problem still continues.
