RAM Motherboard compatability

Solution
You did not specify if you are adding a stick to a board with an existing stick. If so, you need to buy exactly the same thing that you already have, or you could very easily run into problems that the new stick wont play nicely with the one you already have. Just want to put that out there.

my old stick is from simmtronics but i can always put it aside besides i dont have any GPU rn so 4gb ram should be enough for things except for gaming i guess and also i would like to know what kind of problems can arise....... can it result in total failure of a ram module??

No. They just might not work together. You have to try and see. They probably will.

It "might" work fine, it might not boot at all, (usually what happens) or it might boot and be unstable, causing lockups and/or crashes. The golden rule for RAM is never mix memory of different brands, speeds or voltages. Even identical memory that is not purchased in a matched kit or set can have problems. It wont physically hurt the memory in any way, it's just likely wont work correctly.

I live in india so i want to know if newegg is a trusted site as the rates there are comparatively cheap than any other indian site link : http://www.newegg.com/global/in/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231718&cm_re=g.skill_ripjaws-_-20-231-718-_-Product

I would trust Newegg. Just make sore the shipping doesn't outweigh teh "cheapness".
