just how much more powerful/faster is the GTX 1080 to the Titan X

im just wondering how much more powerful is the GTX 1080 to the Titan x, because Ive heard the 1070 is more powerful than the titan x, and maybe if you could give me any guesses on how powerful the titan-class pascal might be. i currently drive my 5k monitor for gaming with 2 x Titan X's but is it possible in i dont know a years time lets say that there could be a single GPU solution that could work for a 5k monitor for gaming

oh and im not fussed about the fps, as long as its 30-40 that's fine for me, with setting's reasonable high.

The GTX 1080 is about 33% faster than the Titan X. The 1070 is only slightly faster (say 10%) than the Titan X.

So yeah, maybe the Pascal Titan will be enough for 60 FPS 5k gaming. But its all speculation at the moment.
I dont think you will get a concrete firm answer on this.

I'd say keep your Titans for now, and just wait for the next single GPU King.
Granted, if you could sell the Titans and get 2 1080s that would be amazing....but I understand you are looking for a single GPU solution.

no its not , the pascal titan x only achieves around 40 fps for demanding titles like witcher 3 etc , this is on 4k resolution hell my gtx 1080s in SLI suppose to be faster than the new titan x and can't get a constant 60 fps like in gta 5 and rise of the tomb raider those are 2 pf the games I've played so far, the cards are way under people's expectations it's just hype , I've seen Patrick Norton and a NVidia rep discussing the pascal titan x the rep said the pascal t isn't a gaming card it's using for multi tasking etc it's going to be a long time , meaning at least 3 yrs for 5k gaming the gtx 1080s can't even give a constant 60 fps in 4k
