I have two 970's and the top is getting 8pin+6pin from PSU and the second is only getting 8pin so my SLI isn't working! I was told it's because its not getting enough power, I only have an 8pin to 8pin( my PSU only came with one 8pin+6pin and 4 8pins) so what if i connect the 2nd GPU with and 8pin in slot 2 on my PSU and then connect 8pin to 6pin on the same GPU from slot 3 on my PSU? will that work or fry my shit? i have a EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 Power Supply

Solution
Well both cards require 8+6 pin connectors. If your power supply supports sli then it must have at least two wires with two 8 pin connectors. And at least on kf the 8 pin ends can be splitted by a clip to be 6. Just take a second look in to ur wires and/or your box if its modular.
