Hi guys,

I used to play xbox one and now i plan to take my gaming experience a big step up.

I need help building my first gaming pc, i'll be playing 4k on my 4k Samsung tv, and 1440p on a monitor. Please i need suggestions about the PC, monitor and Peripherals if possible. It's gonna be specific for gaming and my budget is $3000 (everything). I don't really need 60fps on 4k...it can be a little less...
I prefer x99 but i'm open minded. Thanks...

Solution
4k is not ready for prime time. As for TV's ... I have never found the experience satisfying. the premier gaming experience right now is at 1440p using a 165 Hz Gysnc capable IPS monitor w/ ULMB. As of yet, there are no DP 1.4 monitors which can get up in to high hertz territory.

As far as X99, it's slower than Z170 in gaming, unless you are planning 3 or more GFX cards.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($314.99 @ Newegg)
You could save $100 by getting $6600k w/o impacting gaming a great deal

CPU Cooler: Swiftech H240-X 90.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($149.99)
Nothing else even comes close in this price range...

Motherboard: MSI Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($273.99 @ Amazon)
Best MoBo I have seen in years.

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($56.99 @ Amazon)

Storage: Samsung 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($69.99 @ NCIX US)

Storage: Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($89.99 @ Amazon)
SSHD will allow games stored here to load as fast as SSD.

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($429.00)

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($429.00)
Price is a best guess .... about 40% faster than the $720 1080.

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case ($109.99 @ Amazon)
OK, that was because pcpartpicker won't show the Enthoo Luxe. Add $10 for the Luxe ($119) which is a steal w/ built in fan control and LED system

Power Supply: SeaSonic 1050W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($201.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Again, pcpartpciker won't show the smaller 750 watt Snow ($150) FDB fan, gorgeous aesthetics, i take off $52

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($83.89 @ OutletPC)

Monitor: Acer XB271HU bmiprz 27.0" 165Hz Monitor ($717.94 @ B&H)
This is the best performing gaming monitor on the market at present.

Total: $2927.75 (see below)

Making the above adjustments we have to adjust the price +$10 and -$52 ... or $2,885 ... You have $115 left for the KB / Mouse combo.

If ya want "more stuff", again, the 600k will put $100 more back in ya budget.

if ya wanna bling it up a bit ... this plugs right into the existing LED control system
