As in the heading, I just need a mirror function, where part of the display of a running program is to be mirrored over to a secondary monitor. If the secondary monitor display can be set to a lower resolution such that the mirrored section fills the screen, that's perfect.

u mean...u r trying to attach another monitor to ur laptop, so that u see the same thing as on ur laptop screen???
