Nzxt 440 razer case microphone jack suddenly not working

Hi, so I recently build a pc in a Nzxt 440 razer edition case. I own a headset so, i bought a mic splitter. This worked for around a week. ten one day it stopped working. The jack still works on the mother board and the audio jack on the case still works but the mic jack wont work. When i plug it in the computer recognises it but doesn't pick up anything. So I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem or if maybe I just broke something.

1| It's a good idea to pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS, audio equipment and connected peripherals.
2| Have you made sure your BIOS and remaining device drivers are up to date?
3| If you're on Windows 10, you should disable automatic device driver updates prior to reinstalling your drivers.
4| Have you ruled out that the front panel hasn't given up the ghost or that the sound card drivers are to blame(Windows 10...?)?
