My computers sound is either a few seconds off or a few forward... Over-stressed CPU?

The title is basically the jist of it.

Very recently, today, my computer's sound is either a few seconds off or a few seconds forward; when in-game (Warface) I found that when I fired an assault rifle, that the sound kept going after I let the mouse go - and the sound played in what seemed an endless loop - just as well, when I switched to a shotgun and fired it, the sound would only play half way through and the was after the round shot, or the sound didn't work period (I shot an entire clip individually without holding down the mouse button).

This isn't where the problem ends - when I'm typing in a browser and then I stop typing, after about 10-15 seconds, I can vaguely (like a whisper) hear key strokes in the background of what I'm doing, but cannot hear them (if they are present) when watching video.

Also, my CPU is overclocked but this/these issues occurred BEFORE I overclocked my CPU.

Solution
can be two issues. one is a failing hard drive where the data not flowing from the drive to the cpu/sound.
the other is bad sound chipset or damaged sound drivers. uninstall the sound drivers then download the newest ones if there realtek from there web page.
