When I turn on my laptop it says reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot Device and press a key. I've been searching online for about 2 hours now and all of the solutions are choose hard drive in bios boot priority, yet hard drive isnt an option?? Keep in mind im on Windows 10. Also, when I first turned on my computer today it said error 00xc00007 or something, and once I restarted it, the reboot message came up please help!!!!!

Hi there SamanthaElefante,

As the HDD is not present in the boot order, then there's a chance that it has failed.
My suggestion would be:
- Take the laptop to the place you got it from, in case it it is under warranty.
- In case it is not, you can take the drive out of the laptop, get a SATA to USB converter and attach the drive as an external to another computer. If the drive gets recognized, then try to recover the data stored on it with a data recovery tool and test it afterwards. In case the drive does not appear when attached as a secondary one to a working machine, then it is completely dead and you will need to get a new one.

I'm not sure how to check if the hard drive is working or not, because the only page I can get to is the BIOS and the page saying the reboot thingy. I bought the computer in December, so it's fairly new.

so you can get into the bios? Do you have option for UEFI you may want to try booting with that enabled some vendors setup computers using this and once its set you must use this to boot properly. I assume this is a Sata drive if you just bought the computer recently. I have seen times where disk isn't setup as normal boot device in windows or setup with standard partions but I would assume thats not the case since I bet this booted fine when you got it, its something new that started ? Make sure you have all external or USB type devices unplugged first and just boot laptop and see if that works. I have seen on ASUS and a few other laptops it gets confused when booting if external usb drives or even CD/DVD/Blueray drives will cause boot failures but once those devices are dis-connected it boots then you can re-plug them back in and its fine. Just can't boot with those devices plugged in.

Ok. So I'm looking in the BIOS right now and it says Boot mode is UFEI boot, and there's no option to select any other mode. I'm horrible with computers/laptops, but I'm guessing booting is just turning it on and off? If not, please tell me lol. And I should connect some other PC into the laptop? What kind of wire does that require? Anyways, sorry if I misunderstood.

it sounds like your not in your bios config but just seeing the bios postings there should be a message or line that says to enter bios hit (some key) . what its the make /model of your laptop, I can try and find out what the key sequence is to get into bios for you, but need that info. I suspect the "UFEI boot option isn't correct, did this just start happening to your computer? has it been off for a long time not plugged in, it could be the internal cmos battery went dead and defaulted to factory defaults for bios.

Let me know what the make/model is of the computer and I can try and help you better.

Samantha do you have any external devices plugged in the USB ports like an external drive or USB stick? If so remove and reboot see if that works.

Rebooting is turning on and off right?
Anyways, I have my mouse plugged in because my trackpad is broken. Though I have rebooted it many times with the mouse. I looked at the link and esc + f1 bought me to Toshiba setup utility. For me, tapping f12 gets BIOS..Also, do you have something easier we can contact eachother on? Like Skype or something?
