so i have ASRock FM2A68M-HD+ MoBo and i could get GTX 745 (4gb) for really cheap to replace my current GT 740. at ASRocks website they say Max. shared (graphicscard) memory is 2GB. will my pc work better with that 4gb GTX 745 or with that my current 2gb GT 740?

Solution
Basically they are the same card. The 740 has a higher ram clock rate and 8 more texture mapping units (32 vs 24) but the 745 has a higher gpu clock rate as well as more ram. Otherwise they are the same gk107 'core' found in the 750Ti but with only 384 Shaders active instead of the 640 available in the die. If this is costing you much then I would say dont waste your time and save up for the 750ti or the 950
