GTX 1070 or gtx 1080 Upgrade for a VR gamer and heavy adobe creative suite user?
I currently have a gtx 980sc and not sure which to get.
Like is the fact that the GTX 1070 has less cuda core than the 980 going be a issue for adobe premiere?

1920 cuda core GTX 1070
2048 cuda core GTX 980

Some extra background info:
I currently run a dual 4k monitors but normal game at 1440p 60 on a signal monitor. Dual 4k is mostly for video editing (adobe premiere, Gopro Studio, after effect) /photo editing (Photoshop).

Is the upgrading to GTX 1070 worth the lose of the 128 cuda core from the 980?
Or does upgrading to Pascal architecture makes the lost of 128 cuda core not matter?

prices won't drop like people are hoping they will. they never do. you can look back to last gen before maxwell cards to see this and any other prev gen cards. they don't drop off a cliff. you may find some good deals on used cards but not as low as people think they will.

the 1070 is a better card than the 980 and worth getting. easy choice to make.

Precisely what I want to know. Used 980ti going to be dirt cheap! I currently have dual 1440p monitors run by Gtx 760. My 1070 should be here tomorrow. Again I use the same Adobe products and the OP. I will be gaining cores compared to my elderly 760 but wasn't sure if I should have invested in 980ti
