I'm rather new to PC building and I managed, after much research, to put this system together on PCPP. Any advice for reducing the overall cost is appreciated without reducing the performance and keep in mind I am mainly using this PC for casual gaming and maybe some coding in the future (I am using a 4k display that I already own and will most likely reduce the resolution to 1440p while gaming). I generally never use more than 250-350GB of storage so I opted for a 500GB SSD so I can keep everything on one drive for ease of use. Also any recommendations for a mechanical keyboard (preferably less than $150) and an optical mouse are welcome (I'm upgrading from a laptop so keep that in mind as I do like the feel of my Lenovo laptop keyboard).

otherwise for saving money i would skip the 6600k and go with the 6500. also you wont really need those 120mm fans... three 140mm fans will provide exceptional airflow and with the cool running intel chip and nvidia gpu temps wont be an issue.

Thanks for the reply, being new to pc building I do have a few questions:
1) Why opt for the higher speed and more expensive RAM?
2) I am considering overclocking so I considered the i5 6600k, would that be overkill for my purposes or would it help the CPU last a bit longer before needing an upgrade (looking to make this pc last a few years *3-4* without major upgrades)?
3) What is your opinion on the MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($132.98 @ Newegg)? (Its a few dollars more but allows me to stay with my black/white color scheme, I'm just weary since people mentioned the sata ports were positioned awkwardly).

Again thanks for taking the time to help :)

the ram is considerably faster and its only a few bucks more. some games are seeing a few fps gain from higher spec as well. you should definitely overclock. the 6500 can also be overclocked, should go to 4.3ghz or so using the base clock and the correct bios from asrock. you should really go with the 6700k anyways if you want the build to last longer. i made you red/black but if you want white black then i would go with a gigabyte board over the msi krait. i dont know much about the z170 krait but some past krait boards have had some issues.
