Just purchased a new motherboard MSI 970 gaming and would like to upgrade my heat-sink. My CPU temps reach 70-75C at some points and even in games like Hearthstone it will reach 65. My processor is an AMD fx6300 and I have had problems with unexpected shutdowns. I was looking at buying Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103182) however it seems rather large and not sure if it will fit in my motherboard. Does anyone have any recomendations for a CPU heat-sink of know if the coolmaster is good and will fit in my motherboard?

Thanks for the info and recommendation. I finally figured out my shutdown problem that ive been dealing with for weeks. After 2 new psu and a motherboard it turns out I got 2 bad psu. I recently bought a corsair cx750watt psu about a month ago to try and fix the shutdowns but when the problem kept occurring i tried a new motherboard. I just went to best buy and got another psu to try out and my computer works fine now. I'll have to file a warranty claim with corsair now as I will return the one I purchased from best buy. On the off chance that corsair doesn't send me a new psu do you guys have any recommendations. Also thanks again for all the help I've posted 3 threads in the past month and you guys have been very helpful.

Will the hyper 212 evo fit in my motherboard? I was actually looking at this one before the hyper t4 due to all the good ratings on newegg but it looked huge.

It supports the FX processors too.

Beyond the motherboard you need to make sure it will fit in your case.
