Oh. A HP/Compaq. If you don't have the owners manual that lists the processors and the required BIOS, I suggest you hit the HP forum for that answer. Usually a rep will jump in with help... eventually.
In the meantime, this brochure has a rough listing for you to go by: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0ahUKEwiF0rLizKHNAhVTXlIKHXt6DrUQFghaMAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fh10010.www1.hp.com%2Fwwpc%2Fpscmisc%2Fvac%2Fus%2Fproduct_pdfs%2Fdc5850_data_sheet.pdf&usg=AFQjCNGg2FGTSJ7O5-tYAIdQaYqLWWOyfQ&sig2=HLcB5KLExBh_S79e3qLcyA&bvm=bv.124272578,d.aXo&cad=rja
ok i have the list of cpu compatib. but im still whith que question if a phenom x3 8600 toliman will do bottleneck to my 6870...
It's not that easy to answer. Yes in some games, no in others. Yes if you game at high resolution, no if you game at low rez with low settings that the CPU affects. Yes if you plan on gaming online on a busy server, not so much if at all if you play single player games. But some CPU bottleneck is not a deal breaker with a CPU that old and slow. That simply means that there will be times when the GPU is waiting on the CPU. A slow CPU with a fast card is better than a slow CPU with a slow card.
Update: I have a Phenom X3 8650 in my collection. I also have a GTX 750 Ti that is roughly the same performance as the HD-6870. I will put them in my AM2+ board and run some tests for CPU vs GPU usage with a few games I have that have built-in benchmark pgms.
