Hi, I'm upgrading this PC Hp P7-1225
I was originally going to get a 65w 750 ti or 75w Gtx 950 so I don't have to upgrade the Psu, but the 750 this are priced too high and the 950s costs more than the stronger 950s that require external power.

So I saw this deal for the Msi Gtx 950 card on newegg ($30 rebate). So I figured I'd get it and a new Psu, I would then be able to overclock since I'd have a decent Psu
The 75w Gtx 950s are $119-$125. So this should be way stronger for the money and make my PC at less risk with a better Psu right?

The website says the Psu is a standard atx, so the Evga one should be compatible right?

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 950 2GB Video Card ($109.99)
Power Supply: EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $129.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I learned long ago that very few things in any HP box are standard. Main reason seems to be that they want to force you to buy parts from them. And they can charge super inflated prices because of that as well.

So be very careful about what you buy and where you buy it. B e certain tbat you will be able to get your money back if the part does not do what you expect it to do.

The Evga Psu has a 4 pin CPU connector, a 24 pin for motherboard, sata cables for HDD, Disc drive, ssd that I added, and 6 pin for gpu.

The Evga is also 5.9 x 5.5 x 5.3. And the hp Psu is listed as 5.9 x 5.5 x 5.4.Therefore it should be able to fit since it is 0.1 in shorter. I guess maybe the screw holes will be off by 0.1 in? That's a tiny sliver. It shouldn't change anything. And I looked it's standard atx screw locations on the psu

So Im just doing a sanity check. This should work right? My logic isn't flawed?

That's just the Psu, I didn't even think about the gpu. I'm gonna measure inside the case tomorrow and see if I have room.

Sorry if I ended up answering my own question :p but please let me know if anything I said was wrong so far.

It worked! Everything fits perfectly.

The only annoying thing is that the graphics card is upside down because the entire PC is build backwards from normal cases

But the power supply replacement was easy and it's locked right in. The graphics card isn't screwed or clipped in cause piece of crap mobo and case, but it's really secure!
