Based on my personal experience over many years, it's now always WD over Seagate for me.

The fact that, byte for byte, the Seagate one is effectively half the price of the WD one speaks volumes about which is likely to be more reliable. At the very least, the much cheaper one has to be treated with some suspicion - - why are theirs much cheaper?
