Is this a good beginning for a gaming pc?

Is my rig a good start for a pc that can handle some latest games like Overwatch with 30-60+ FPS at 720p or 1080p?

Processor: Intel i5-6400 Processor 2.7 Ghz
Graphics Card: Palit GTX 750Ti StormX Dual 2gb DDR5 128 bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2
RAM: Kingston 8gb DDR4 2133Mhz
Hard Drive: Seagate 1 TB 7200 SATA
Power Supply: FSP Hexa HE-600 600w
Casing: Thermaltake Versa H23 Mid-Tower Gaming Case

My budget is limited so these are some of the components that I can afford. What do you think? Should I change something for the better or is this build good? Any response would be appreciated :)

If you haven't already bought it, leave out the GPU and get a better PSU (Seasonic S12II 520W would be fine). I say leave out the GPU because the Rx 480 will be coming into the market early July and AMD says it will perform around the same as a GTX 980 (probably a little less but we're still talking GTX 970 or better performance) and will cost 200$. So you'd just need to save up another 50$ or so and get a card more than twice as powerful (you'd be able to run everything at 1080p Ultra smoothly). Until then you'd still have the i5's integrated graphics, so you'd only need to run games at lower settings.

My total budget is $550 (25,000 php here in the Philippines). I am gonna buy the RX 480 if it will come to our country but I think it will be much more expensive here in the philippines than the retail price of $200 in the US.

If that is your price limit, then you have chosen a balanced and sensible build which should work well for gaming.
BTW, make sure you get a kit of 2 memory sticks - e.g. 2x4Gb kit. You have dual channel memory, so a single stick runs really slowly.

Dual-channel mode provides barely a 10% performance benefit and that's when your application actually does benefit from higher RAM throughput, which games really don't.

Well it will be about 30-35% more expensive than the 750 Ti you're looking at (should help calculate the price). It will become available early July for most of the global market, and probably by mid-July for those that get it late. I'd say don't get a GPU at all right now and bump up your CPU to an i5 6500 (significant clockspeed improvement) and just play using the integrated graphics until the Rx 480 is available.

Hmm with this you probably could. I don't know how prices in the phillipine sword, but look for the cheapest H110 with a single 8 GB stick so you could add another in the future, cheapest. Also use the i3 6100 if your budget restricts you. Then go find the cheapest GTX 960 or R9 380 4GB card. And look for a high quality cheap 550w PSU. And the. Look to see if you have room for a i5 6400 or an RX 480

I know it is "only" a 10% benefit, but a 2x4GB kit costs very nearly the same as a single 8Gb stick!!! It is a no-brainer.

hmm you honestly have a point in the CPU part. well the i5 6400 is good. I mean looking at it, you would end up with a few tens over budget, but if that s not a concern, then i5 6400 and a RX 480 is the best deal

as of the RAM, I also agree. and as of the most H110, they only have 2 ram slots, making upgrading a big hassle.

Sorry for I haven't replied a long time. Thank you for all your answers!! Since I'll be buying my rig in the month of November, maybe the RX 480 will be at the budget at that time. So I think I still have time to wait. Thank you for your suggestions once again! Truly appreciate it :)

About the Ram, I think I'll buy the 8gb slot for the purpose of upgrading in the future to a possible 16gb ram all in all. And about the power supply, I can't find them in here in our country and I researched about the FSP Hexa and many say that it is okay so I think I'll settle for that. And Mr Kagouris, you have a point about the CPU. I'll consider using my GT 730 with the i5 first and save up for a huge gpu upgrade. Still, a huge thank you :)

I agree that an i5-6500 and RX 480 would be the best bet, and that the Hexa PSU is junk. An XFX TS/XTR, EVGA SuperNOVA G2 or Antec HCG are considerably better.

OP, I highly recommend that you stretch your budget to include an H170 or B150 motherboard. The H110 only supports 8 PCIe 2.0 lanes, which is only sufficient for a GPU. If you add other PCIe devices, you may well create a bottleneck. Also, whilst it's sufficient today, you may find that future GPUs will be bottlenecked by the lack of PCIe lanes.

I guess I can save a few bucks for the B150. However, I cannot find any power supply that you have all suggested. The ones available here are only Thermaltake, Aerocool, HEC Cougar and FSP. Any suggestions on these brands that are good power supplies?

FSP Aurum PT
FSP Hydro G
Thermaltake Toughpower DPS Gold
FSP Aurum 92+
FSP Aurum Gold
FSP Aurum S
FSP Aurum Xilencem

From those brands these are the only ones that are at least somewhat good. Never skimp on the power supply and buy junk, an extra 10-20$ for a better power supply is cheaper than 200-400$ for replacing dead components.

Yea never cheap out of this stuff.you want clean power.

FSP is actually decent with some of their units. I've seen one PSU from then stand water. But that's the better units. HEC is trash,,but capable of making some better ones like the 600B.

I mean just look at the psu tier list. It's there for a reason.
