My Seagate 1 TB external Backup + drive stopped backing up after 2-3 times. When I used the backup option, it would just sit there doing nothing. So I did a 'quick format' on the drive. Now when I try to backup to it, I get the message "The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with. (0x80041312)

Kindly advise on what to do now to get it to start backing up my data again.

Sounds like it had Seagate's own backup software on it and now doesn't. You probably need to go to Windows backup options in Control Panel>Backup and Restore andpoint the backup to the drive letter that drive is assigned.
Hi there SURESHBAKSHI,

I would totally agree with Saga Lout. If this does not work, I believe you can just download the software from the manufacturer's website.
Another thing you could consider is to test the drive with the maker's testing tool, so you can make sure nothing is wrong with the drive.
