ASAP could someone verify this costume build please?

Solution

My recommendation is to get the following and add an Rx 480 when it comes out:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor (£95.51 @ CCL Computers)
Motherboard: MSI B150 Gaming M3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£79.88 @ More Computers)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory...

Admirable
Problem - AMD processors are two complete generations behind Intel. They waste a lot of power, and are less good for gaming. If you buy one, you will probably need to spend £25 on an after market cooler..
Instead, spend your money on a Intel i5 6500 and Asus H110-M motherboard. The Intel stock cooler is more than enough.

That is a nice case, but my Aerocool case and my sons Antek case both cost under £30 from Amazon, and there is nothing wrong with either of them.

RAM is often sold in pairs. This is because pretty much all motherboards are dual channel, and so work much faster with 2 identical RAM sticks. Get a 2x4GB kit, or better still, a 2x8GB kit

I'd recommend going for something a bit different.

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£37.98 @ Novatech)
Case: Corsair SPEC-ALPHA ATX Mid Tower Case (£68.44 @ Amazon UK)

Total: £384.79

  • ■ The i3 will be better for gaming as strange as it seems.
    ■ Better SSD.
    ■ Much better PSU.
    ■ You get the new DDR4 memory standard, making future upgrades easier and cheaper.

I'd also recommend not buying a GPU in the price range now. The Rx 480 will be coming early July and will perform around twice as well as anything you can buy for that money at the moment.

How would you know it is a better PSU?

The XT series haven't been properly reviewed but a few testers have mentioned getting fairly decent results from tests, and while the build quality isn't amazing, it's a budget unit and still really better than stuff like the Corsair CX or EVGA white. On top of that it's got a 3 year warranty which is more than similar units can boast. I guess it could be bumped up to a TS series or a Seasonic S12II.

Thanks for all your time!!

Yes, I agree with AMD lagging behind. But ATM I actually need to build a PC for the first time ever, so would it be good if after one or twomonths If i upgrade the amd CPU to an Intel and just keep my motherboard?? Right now I'm only allowed on an 550 budget.

You can't keep the motherboard if you want to upgrade. Intel and AMD motherboards are not inter-compatible (in fact not even all motherboards from either side are inter-compatible as they have different sockets such as LGA1151 and LGA1150 on the Intel side). I honestly don't see the reason to buy a worse CPU now with the intent of upgrading down the line to something you can buy right now.

just bought all of those. decided to get an intel skylake i5 unlocked quad core rather than i3 dual as it will result in a bottleneck.
i also opted for an 2x8gb ddr4 hyperX fury for my rendering needs atm before the rx 480 comes out.

thank you all for your time!!
