Hi! I have the option to get either a NVIDIA 780ti SC or Gigabyte 970 G1. I was wondering which card is better for 1080p gaming and for the long run. I'm concerned about power consumption and temperatures. If you have an opinion you would like to share I would appreciate it. Thanks!

The 970 all the way. The 780 Ti and the whole 7xx series in general hasn't aged that well. There is some debate about if that was done intentionally by Nvidia with their drivers but no matter if that's true or not the 970 runs cooler, uses less power and is faster.
If you're concerned about power consumption and thermals then there is no question that the GTX 970 is the preferred card.

Your PSU might be a factor as well as they have largely different power requirements. What is the model number of your current power supply?

I have a Ultra X4 Modular 750 WATT ATX Power Supply. I believe it's not the best but is there any power supply out there that you would recommend? I'd prefer it to be modular and cheap(if possible) as I live in Canada and the dollar sucks lol

This is such a worry in my eyes. I really wonder if this plays a role, disgraceful if true.

I don't know what your budget is like, but you definitely don't want any "Ultra" branded power supply in your system. They are terrible and are well known for causing a variety of problems including hardware and system failures. Not worth the risk if you're going to purchase a high end graphics card. Capacity isn't the issue, quality and internal protections IS.

This is probably the least expensive unit that's at least semi-modular that I'd recommend. It's capacity is a bit overkill for your needs, but considering the cost versus other units that have lower capacities, it's a better value.
