trading my gtx 770 and $50 for a 780

Solution
For $230ish next month the ATI RX 480 comes out, the 8 gig version which you'd want for future considerations. Even at $200 for a stock $480, there is no reason to pay $180 for a 780 especially considering you are on crossfire. Can you sell the 770 next month? Or pay the extra $50 for the trade since the resale on a 780 would be more than $50 over a 770 anyways.

The short answer is yes, the 780 is about 25% faster than the 770 at stock and a good 20% if both are OCed. However, a few things to factor in. Can your current MB/PSU support SLI and can you get another 770 or 780 cheap from another source? Both cards are near overkill for 1080P and near perfect for 1440P, with especially the 780 in SLI for most games, you can skip this generation and the next (few) unless you go 4K or VR. Basically the 780 OCed is equivalent to the 970 and an excellent increase over the 770.

sadly my current mb can only support crossfire and that's the only cheap 780 locally at least, it was either trade for my 770 + $50 or $180
