im a first time builder and my aunt has built many pc's so she offered to give me a little extra help. (I already have an idea and know how to mostly) if I have my phone and facetime her while building is this dangerous for my parts? potential damage or what?

As far as I'm aware it's not dangerous for the PC unless you drop the phone on the components. I'd recommend putting the phone somewhere where the camera can see what you're doing most of the time, to save picking it up repeatedly.

There are numerous build guides on youtube from reputabel channels like Linus tech tips, Tek syndycate etc.
You can't really damage teh components unless you hit them physically if you discharge electrostatically before you start to work on it and a few times while working.

Nothing should happen. Just put the device in a good location on a tripod or something, and zoom in if you can, maybe if you dropped it inside while building the computer, something COULD happen.
