Hello,

In 2014 I've bought a Samsung SSD EVO 840 1TB, and today I wanna get another SSD from Samsung, but this time will be Samsung SSD EVO 850 1TB and I wanna create a RAID 1 with them.
Is this possible in this case if one SSD is 840 series and another 850 series, and both of them have 1TB storage space? I'm asking you because I know that the HDDs must have same interface and space to get full benefits from RAID1.

Thanks,
Claudius

You should`t have problems both SSD are sata 3, the space is the same in case raid 1 you need to be sure the 2nd hdd/ssd have more or same space then the original. You know raid 1 is mirroring the drives, the benefit is if one of the SSD fail the system should running from the other. One more think if you have hardware raid not software there you could see the benefits from raid, also depend of the configuration and OS ofc.
