Hello
I recently upgraded my PCs Mobo and CPU, previously I had an Asus Phenom B55 and if I remember correctly an ASUS M468n-t. I upgraded to an FX-6300 and an ASUS M5A78-Lm. After installing the new mobo and CPU my computer starts up and I hear the fans spin, but no beeps from the mobo and nothing appears on my monitor its just blank. The Specs that didn't change on my PC are a NAXN 550Watt PSU, GTX 660.8GB Ballistix RAM, and my 1TB Hitachi HDD That's running Win8.1. I didn't touch my HDD prior to changing the mobo and CPU and still after haven't touched it. My PSU strangely has 2 4pin connectors for the 12V ATX connector on the mobo, I've tried both but I still get a blank screen. I really don't know what to do, tomorrow I'm going to buy thermal paste and reinstall the CPU and make sure I didn't connect it wrong cause I've read somewhere that that could be a problem but other than that I'm lost at a dead end with no clue for what could be at fault.

Thank you for reading my post

As with all new motherboards do the basic checks first.

That the 24 pin Atx power block is fitted to the motherboard from the PSU.
That the four or eight pin 12v Eps is connected to the motherboard from the PSU.

That the card in the Pci-e card slot of the board is provided with the required 12v Pci-e power connectors from the PSU.

If the board has any sort of bios reset pins on the board, that the correct two pins for normal bios operation are bridged by a jumper cap, and not left in clear bios settings.

If the motherboard has on board video output ports for a video solution, that your monitor is connected to it via the signal cable first of all.

Remember by factory default bios settings most motherboards are set to use the on board video solution of a motherboard first.

Until you enter the bios of the motherboard, and change the primary default graphics card interface selection to PCI-E card slot, for the GTX 660 card you have in it.

Save the changes in the bios before you exit it.
Then swap the video cable from the monitor to the GTX 660 card.

Check to see in the Cpu support list on the motherboard makers website, and support section that the cpu you have is listed as working and compatible.

Consult the manual depending on how many ram sticks or modules the motherboard supports, for the order each memory stick you have must be placed, and the position of it.

And that the type and speed of the memory you have is supported.

If any of it fails to get the motherboard to post.

You should consider that the problem or cause should, or may be down to the fact of how the motherboard is fitted to the case, or motherboard mounting plate of the case.

That the cause could be due to a short circuit on the back of the motherboard due to wrong, or an extra board standoff on the mounting plate for the motherboard in the system case.

You should remove the motherboard and visually check, each hole of the motherboard lines up with a plate standoff, and that no extra ones not required have been removed.

As changing from motherboard to a new motherboard can result in this.

I came home from work and school and did everything you said. I took out the CPU , reapplied correct paste amount, I put RAM sticks in the correct order following the manual, I mounted 2 more motherboard standoff screws that were missing . I made sure both 24pin and 4pin connectors are connected to the motherboard, I switched the VGA to the Motherboard instead of my dedicated GPU. Even after all this, when I boot the same thing happens, no beep, fans spinning, normal green light from the motherboard , and blank screen on monitor. I am at a dead end. Maybe I damaged my motherboard already ? Or maybe I need to format my hard drive since I acquired a new CPU and Mobo. I'm not sure but this is really frustrating as my summer semester has just started and I can't even use my computer to do my homework .
