Hi, thank you for taking the time to click on this lol.

I'm going to be building my first PC, I have put parts into an older computer before but have never started from scratch so this will be something new!

This is the build I currently have in mind:

It will be used for gaming, schoolwork, and possibly some video editing in the future.

I plan on adding a GTX 1080 once those become available.

A monitor is not necessary but if I could somehow make room to buy a good one that would be nice.

I only want air cooling.

My budget is generally around $1500 but I can go up to $2100 (although I would to save as much as possible)

My question (other than what can be improved upon currently) is how much of a difference would a i5 6600k make from th i7 6700k as well as the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080? I would like this build to have the future in mind.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Here ya go. I changed the case as well because I don't really think you need such a massive case. GTX 1070 SLI > GTX 1080

Solution
Looks like a nice build. For gaming the difference between an i5 and i7 is negligible, so I would save the cash and go with an i5 anyday. If air cooling I woud recommend the CM EVO cooler, it is cheaper and is one of the best coolers available.
I would recommend at least a 500gb SSD, since you are going to use this as a gaming pc games will fill up a 250 gb SSD fast, along with your OS and programs.

I would not buy any founder's edition 1070/1080, wait for the other brands to release their GPU's to get much better pricing, and probable even better cooling and performance.

The choice of GPU depends on your monitor, what resolution are you aiming for at what refresh rate. If you have a 1080p/60hz monitor a single GTX 1070 already would be overkill for it.

Thank you for responding bootcher!

Yeah I was only planning on using the SSD for the OS and maybe a couple games but going to 500 GBs would definitely not hurt!

Already on that one lol never even crossed my mind to buy the founder's edition.

Well if I don't buy a monitor it would be 1080p 60hz BUT even if I don't buy a monitor now I do plan on buying one sometime in the near future. Most likely would be 1440p.

I replaced the processor and motherboard as the 5820K is the best gaming processor.

Not true. i7 6800K is newer and faster than the old i7 5820K.
