Where/how can I get a ASUS ROG GTX 1080 STRIX? Disappointed with Newegg.

Only seen them available on Newegg, but they are impossible to order from. What other websites carry it for USA in stock or not?

If you have any interest, my gripe with Newegg has been the following. They had them in stock on the 10th, but didn't ever show the 10th as an estimated date. The Auto-Notify never Notified me when they were released. I found out late that day, it showed inventory, I ordered it and they voided it. Sent me an email saying something like sorry, inventory was wrong. I called them on the 11th to see when I should check the site for the ETA restock of 6/13. They said they update around 6am pst. Last night the eta of 6/13 disappeared. They themselves can only give estimates when the website will update a products inventory, and you cant order over the phone even if they have it in stock. Called them this morning, but their phone system was messed up and almost impossible to hear. I had the rep call me back on two separate phones. From what I understood, it will be updated on the website around 6am pst as expected and to keep checking. I was not told there was no stock from what I could understand. Even on a separate instance with their online chat help, the rep told me to keep refreshing this morning. Sat at my computer for two hours, never came in stock. Called them and they said they don't have it and the last one sold was on the 10th. No estimated ETA. Complete waste of time. I will never wait for another release on Newegg again. If I order, it will be sparingly and only if I have no other options.

I haven't seen any AIB 1080 available anywhere. And i haven't seen any review of any 1080 except the Founders Edition. That thread on Reddit says those people have reserved it, but they haven't been sent the cards nor do they know when they will be sent. So yes, i guess you can reserve one and wait, or wait and buy, your choice, depends on how impatient you might be ;) And/or bragging rights (i got mine reserved before anyone else, suck on that!) :D
They are not for sale yet. For the time being, Nvidia only sells the 1080 Founders Edition. They are milking the patience-less enthusiasts, and in a few weeks (it's not yet know when, as far as i know) the AIB versions will start selling. If they showed as "available" in Newegg, it was a mistake. The rep you spoke with has no idea, they are no tech enthusiasts, they just work there, and for the money they get paid, i wouldn't bother either getting to know the products better...

a fair point in terms of the newegg reps.

in terms of it being available, there are several forums with people claiming to have ordered it on the 10th from newegg. for example,

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/4nc6ob/asus_strix_1080_expected_on_newegg_on_june_13/

newegg also verbally confirmed they last one was sold on the 10th.
