I'm building a new gaming system and I'm deciding if I should either use a powerline adapter or wireless PCI Card

The only issue about the powerline is the fact that they won't be plugged into a wall socket and will be a an extension lead instead which I know loses speed slightly

My wireless connection is pretty good both on 2Ghz and 5ghz and get speeds of 100mbps

However the main priority is gaming so I need to know which is better?

Games do not need speed they need consistent traffic rates with little to no loss. If you have good wireless it will be ok most the time. It is always subject to random interference...could be someone with a device driving past your house even.

Powerline for most people is more stable than wireless for games. Not sure about the extensions, powerline is very sensitive to things like that which is why they say not to hook them up that way.

With a PCI card spend the money for the extension cables to move the antenna away from the back of the case. Some of better pci cards come with these antenna kits as part of the package.
