hi, I acquired a computer for free from a yard sale. it has a Core i5 2500 (non k) and 16gb of RAM. the main issue is it has a GTX 285. Would a GTX 750 Ti STRIX be a worthy upgrade? or should i get something like a 285 SLI set up. The PSU is a seasonic 600W

i think one powerful graphic card is better for gaming then SLI setup. and yes it worth upgrading , still if you have the budget there are better graphic to go with but the GTX 750 ti is good , 2GB GDDR5 VRAM is OK!

Neither. Wait until the end of the month and get the RX 480 coming out for $200 with close to Fury level performance.

If it's a Seasonic 600W, yes. Without a doubt. Even a 500 could.
