Hey there ! I bought a Sapphire R9 270X a couple of years ago and recently, I applied new thermal paste following every procedure carefully. My GPU meets the bare minimum to play DOOM (2016) in Full HD and the temps hit 100c on full gpu usage @50 fps avg. So i thought of cleaning and applying new paste. But now, my gpu can only give me 10 to 20 fps. I'm shell shocked. i repeated the steps again but still my gpu lags like hell and reaches 100c. It even can't get 600 score on Unigine Valley and Fire Strike etc. I checked online for the same gpu scores and i can't hit 30% of them.

1.What should I do with the R9 270X ? need solutions.

My GPU works fine in idle, browsing and multimedia operations but suck at 3D apps.

2. I was planning on to buy the RX 480 8GB but which manufacture offers the best GPUs ? MSI ?
I have another pc so i was gonna slam tha tR9 270X there but now I'm DOOMed.

and I was willing to CrossFireX my RX 480 with another one in over an year. will this mobo be good for the two 480s ? http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5173#ov

I have an Intel Core i7-4770 with 16 gigs of DDR3 1600MHz RAM.

Well you certainly screwed your 270x. You did something wrong that made it heat up. It's not cooling properly. Are the fans working with good thermal paste on? Also those temps will shorten the lifespan of the card. Watch out. Go over your procedures and make sure you did everything right. Are the thermal pads in place?

Anyways don't crossfire on that specific board. The board supports crossfire on x16 and x4, not both x8, creating a bottleneck between those cards. Honestly getting a single 1070-1080 will not disappoint.

Well, the thermal pads are in place and I did nothing as far as I'm concerned that might've loosen up a few circuits or too. The temparature doesn't bother me at all because the GPU is acting weird. what shall I do ? retracing didn't help though. Should I bake the GPU ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xanr4jkmEc

And please explain the x8 connectors. I'm pretty low on budget now so I can afford an RX 480 which is gonna be the best price for performance card in my country too. So I'm planning to CrossfireX later when I can afford. tell me, which Gigabyte mobo will be better for my i7-4770 and two RX 480s ?
