How to reset a Phone without losing an app?

I have an IPod touch 5th generation with flappy bird installed on it (A rare game that doesn't sell anymore) and I want to sell the IPod but without removing the app, is there anyway I could take the app and store it somewhere while the phone resets or how do I go about this?
Please help thank you!

Yes, I want to keep the app and reset the phone and still have the app so when I sell the Ipod people won't have my emails and such.
