This is my first time building a computer. All the parts come on Thursday so I will build on Saturday. Someone at work said I would need to buy SATA cables which I didn't know I needed. He also mentioned get wrist bands to prevent static.

So I am getting 2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00552PK80/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
And 2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00552PDCS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I'm also getting 2 static wrist bands for my girlfriend and me.

Are there any other things I will need to build a computer? I believe my fan comes with the compound (that I just learned about). I have some regular screwdrivers. I would hate to be excited to build the computer and then realize I missed a part. Also, any suggestions for resources for first time builders?

Thank you!!!

Solution
More phases and better cooling for starters. The extra phases will give you higher Overclocking potiental and the current founders edition throttles clock speed.

Your motherboard should come with some SATA cables (two) but you have 3 sata devices so yes you will need some new cables. Otherwise you should be good to go.

Nice build by the way, quite a machine you have there. Personally I would have gone for an i5 and water cooling but hey that thing is going to tear through anything you throw at it.

What have you got for a monitor btw?

In my experience with my ASUS strix 1080 I can't get over 2150Hz stable which isnt much better than the founders. However this is due to the overclocking utilities stopping me from going over a certain voltage. So unless they want to edit the bios i would think they will be happy enough with the gains from EVGAs overclock utility.
