Using more RAM then System Board allows??

My System Board Spec's say that 4GB RAM is max. I installed 8GBs and it still boots and is running fine for about 3 hours now. I noticed in performance that my system is using about 5gbs, Can this hurt my System Board or anything else?

No you can't hurt it. I've seen quite a few posts where people installed more RAM than their system specs list can be used and they reported that it showed up properly.
