Basically the title says it all. I currently own 8 gb of ram and gtx 970/i7 4790. I work a lot in after effects and to speed up pre-render time i want to upgrade my ram but i dont know which model, budget range - 150-200 British pounds

My motherboard H81M-S2H Gigabyte.
32 or 16 would be the ideal amount of ram.

Check the Gigabyte web site for that specific motherboard. First make sure it supports 16 or 32GB. Then check on the support page for that mobo to find a list of RAM that they have tested for it. It's usually called a Qualified Vendor List or something similar. Then shop your region.

That board will support upto 16Gb of DDR3 1333/1600 MHz ram. Use pcpartpicker.com and search for ddr3-16Gb (2x8Gb) -1600MHz. You'll want to pick ram with CL9 or lower for best possible performance. Brand is up to you, g-skill is good, crucial is good as is corsair, Kingston, patriot, mushkin and team. Whether you opt for fancy heatsink and/or designs is up to you
