Black screen should I get a different CPU?

So i finished my build recently and after i became excited for about 15 minutes of finishing it up i plug in all the connectors and..... blackscreen so the fans are spinning at im guessing almost max rpm and the system wouldnt boot to bios but i think it might be because the bios chip on my board says 1.80 while the cpu i got says it up to 2.40 should i just return my cpu and get a cpu thats 1.80 or lower?

Even if brand new, an MB can sit on the shelf long time so BIOS may be older version.
845 is not very much better than 840, so yeah it may be a good swap. If it's a K model you can do slight OC to bring it on same level.

Written like that and without any information on what you are referring to ( MB and CPU at least) I can only take a wild guess but....
I suppose that those numbers mean BIOS version ? In that case BIOS has to be updated but it has to be done while using compatible processor.

Oh yeah sorry I have a Athlon x4 845 with a asrock fm2a68mdg3+ with 8gb of 1333mhz ram with a antec 550w psu I know It can't be the board its literally brand new in the most safest packaging I've had for a board and the board has a bios chip with the update? Of p 1.80 written on it while I looked at the compatibility for the CPU on asrocks website and it says since update p 2.40 so should I just return my CPU and get a 840 instead since that works for all bios updates
