I am really struggling to activate the SLI in the NVIDIA Control Panel, I have 2 identical graphics cards, both show on the driver settings, both have been uninstalled and updated, swapped slots, bridged, even went into the BIOS menu to change Northbridge to PCI as mentioned in a previous thread. My motherboard is a Asrock A55 P3, cards are MSI NVIDIA GeForce 970 4g, according to the manual, it supports dual graphics CrossfireX etc, is that where I am going wrong? Thank you in advance.

Solution
Your motherboard does not support SLI, it only support CrossFire and dual graphics which is using a AMD card with an onboard card, this is why the option will never show in the control panel
Per the Asrock webpage 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (PCIE2 @ x16 mode; PCIE3 @ x4 mode) In order to run sli you have to be able to run the cards at 8x, 8x at the bare minimum. Your PCIE3 slot runs at a maximum of x4 so it wont allow SLI.

AMD on the other hand can run on x4 hence why you can crossfire on the board.
