I bought the EVGA 1000w GQ Psu a while ago but have recently been looking to buy some sleeved cables to improve the look of my PC. Cablemod does some real nice ones but only has cables for a few PSU's, one of them being the G2 series. I want to know if these cables are cross compatible, iv heard the GQ series is just a semi modular version of the G2 series. Can i buy the new G2 PSU cables to use on the GQ PSU?

No they are not compatible. The G2 is their flagship model made by Superflower, the GQ is their Value gold model made by FSP. The cables may be socketed or pinned differently. If Cablemod isn't offering the G2 cables as GQ compatible they are likely different.

But there now there is the cablemod configurator which you can customize the cables yourself AND there are choices which are compatible with the GQ line.
