Both are essentially the same board sporting the same form factor, same audio codec, and the same number of DIMM slots however the similarities end there since the Gigabyte board sports two additional PCI slots with only one PCI-Ex1 slot with the MSI having two PCI-E x1 slots. MSI has USB3.1 Gen 1 connectivity while Gigabyte is left with USB3.0 only. The SATA ports on the MSI are on the lower edge making cable management somewhat of a challenge. The power phases for the MSI board is 4+2 while that on the Gigabyte is 3+1. They both will get your job done whichever board you choose though I'd choose the MSI board simply because of the USB3.1 connectivity.

Be sure to update your BIOS after you build your system.
