Hey so my friend gave me 2x8 gigs of RAM because he didn't need them. So I plugged them into my existing 2x4 gigs of ram. I moved over the ram to make the 2x8 on the 1st and 2nd slot and put the 2x4 on the 3rd and 4th spot. So I turned on the PC and it would show the motherboard logo and look like it is booting, then the screen on my monitor would turn off and say no signal detected. So I removed my old 2x4 ram and just left the 2x8. Same thing happened... So I went back to my original configuration without the ram my friend gave me because I just needed to get on my PC. But yet AGAIN the same thing happens, and I don't know what to do! I would really appreciate help ASAP, thanks.

Solution
No guarantees mixing DRAM will even play nice (or at all). Try resetting the BIOS and try the 2x8GB in slots 1-3. If they work then try adding the 2x4GB in slots 2-4. If problems let us know the model numbers of the DRAM, the CPU and Mobo....might be the 8GB sticks aren't even compatible with the mobo
