Cant mount cpu cooler what am I missing?

According to the directions there should be a backplate. But instead I just see this X bracket mounted to the board where the stock cooler was mounted. And I cant push the new bracket through. And im not sure it the stock cooler bracket should come off since it has the 3 screws through it that holds the processor cover down. Am I missing something? Could use a more trained eye to figure this out.Thanks for your help!

Is this a prebuilt system? Because that mount on the back of the motherboard is usually for prebuilt system with their coolers. The back of motherboards have all 4 holes open for coolers. But if thats a prebuilt motherboard then It would make sense.
If you want, I have an old 1150 motherboard thats busted and I can take the mount that holds the cpu clamp down and ship it to you. Send me a pm and I can show photos and instructions if you are interested

yes its pre built computer. any way around it for this setup or is it pretty much limted to the stock cooler with out some sort of adaapter or something.

That backplate that is currently on it is also holding down the clamp. Typically there is just a small on holding down the clamp like the one depicted in the instructions. The one that is on your motherboard holds the clamp down as well as the cpu cooler. So if youre interested in the backplate that I have, I can send it to you and send some instructions on how to put it on. With mine, you will be able to mount your cooler
