Is this a blanced build (LGA1156) and how to cheaply upgrade it if at all. Gaming oriented PC.

I have been upgrading a 300€ second hand PC I bought almost 3 years ago until the last acquisition which has been a Shapphire r9 280x tri-x to replace an MSI r9 270.

This has made me think if, having such an old core, the pc is still balanced and where best to ask than here.

I know acquiring an SSD sounds great but I am comfy enough now running w10 as it starts pretty fast, around 1 min to be fully operative. I will eventually buy one when prices are even more ridiculous than now.

The build sits as follows.

-MSI P55-GD55

-i7 860

-2 KINGSTON PC3-10700 2GB 1333

-2 KINGSTON HYPERx BLU PC3-12800 1600

(Here, if someone knows and can tell me, I'd also like to know if the basic memories are making the better ones go slower or if they work fine together)

-Leotec 600w or more power supply (it came with the PC to run the GTX280 it came with when I bought it).

-2 HDD (I belive seagate Barracuda 500GB black edition).

-Shapphire Vapor-X R9 280X 3G D5

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO

Thanks for your time answering my question!

I'm not sure on this question of 'balanced'. Some games are CPU heavy, some are GPU heavy, and most depend on the settings and resolution.

Yes, in some games that CPU might prevent the gfx card from reaching 100%. It depends on the game and settings used ... and it might not be an issue, if you're getting the FPS you want.

Find some benches of the game and gfx card, to see what you should be getting at the same settings + resolution. If the results are far from what you're seeing and you want them, consider a CPU or even RAM upgrade (especially if that's only 4 gigs).

As for the memory, unless you're overclocking the set of 1333 to 1600, it's most likely running all at 1333. There's nothing wrong with running memory slower than...

Wonderful!

When I said "balanced" I was trying to say if it is a build which possess enough power to run current and future games without underperforming. Like if it compares good enough to the current 1150 processors considering the overall build. My bad!

I find what you said of comparing benches of the card like a really good answer, so thanks!

The ram total is 12 gigs, and I don't mind it running at 1333, and now less cause you told me what I wanted to hear, that it won't affect performance :D

So l think that because I am not exquisite whatsoever and I only want the games to run smoothly that I won't be looking for a new mobo+processor for at least 2 years, if they don't fail before XD
