Ok I am trying to pick a cpu for my first computer build. I want to have the power to play any game I throw at it, but trying to find a cpu on a budget isnt easy. It also doesn't help that im a noob when it comes to pc's. I am currently considering the I5-6600k paired with the AMD RX-480. Like I said I want to be able to play any game, but I mainly want to play Fps games as well as Rpg's (skyrim and Fallout)

First off do I need overclocking or can I leave that out and save that for a future upgrade?

Second, is the 6600k a good enough cpu to play practically any game and keep me above 60 fps even if I run skyrim with a couple of texture mods.

Thanks for any information you can give.

Yes and no. It's the new "entry level high end" card, so it will be a little bit overkill for just 1080p, especially when something like a GTX960 4GB or an R9 380X can run 1080p just fine. That said, it will prolong the life of the machine as you won't need to upgrade the GPU for a good amount of time

You don't need to get an unlocked CPU. An i5-6500 is going to be able to perform perfectly fine on pretty much everything, and the savings might be able to jump you up to a GTX1070 (when you factor in savings on the motherboard and potential savings on the RAM)
