How well threaded is your editing app?
In general, higher individual core capability trumps many cores.
"Amdahl's rule" will explain some of why.
Intel cores across the budget spectrum are stronger than amd.
Perhaps if your cpu budget is under $150 or so, you could make a case for a FX-8350.
